Born in Lebanon in 1907 and arrived in Australia in 1923. He is the son of the first Antiochian Orthodox priest to arrive in Australia, the very Reverend Exarch Nicholas Shehadie. In 1973 he became the first priest of St Nicholas church and in 1984 had to retire due to poor health. He successfully worked as a first point of contact for thousands of Lebanese and Arab migrants to Australia.
