The ceremony to celebrate Australia’s ethnic business achievement was held last night at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney in the presence of her Excellency, Ms. Quentin Bryce AC, The Governor General of Australia.
Founder and Chairman of the Ethnic Business Awards, Mr Joseph Assaf, said in its 21st year, the Awards received more than 1500 entries across the nation and the judges had a particularly difficult time this year picking winners from many inspiring stories of success.
The business success of Ella Rouge and their recognition in these awards epitomise the hard work, resilience, persistence and energy many migrants and refugees are able to drive from the opportunities that Australia provides, said Mr Hamdan. Ella Rouge s a true success story that we will hail as a role model for many young entrepreneurial people of Arabic speaking background, he added.
Ella Rouge has a relatively young history and started with one small shop in Hurstville in 1997 to become one the most reputable name in the beauty industry with 20 stores operating under its name.
Mr Hamdan has also congratulated AABN Corporate Members Hassan and Eddie Moussa, of R.M. Gregory Printers on their recent win of an Australian Lebanese of the Year Award. The Award was recently presented by the Australian Lebanese Chamber of Commerce at a prestigious function at the Doltone House in Sydney.
The Australian Arab Business Network has this year launched its own business award. Nominations have been called for under two categories, Entrepreneurial Business and AABN Member Awards. The Awards will recognise entrepreneurs who have shown exceptional talents, capacity and innovation in business. Nominations close on 15 February 2010 and winners will be announced at the AABN Gala Dinner on 20 March 2010.
